Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club ~ Seventy Third Annual Gala

For seventy three years, Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club has been providing local children with a safe and nurturing space in which to learn, grow, and thrive. With programs that promote healthy living, community service, fitness and academic success, children between the ages of 5 and 18 have the chance to develop a sense of belonging and strong self-esteem – putting them on the path to realize their full potential.

Your support of our Gala provides the resources our Club needs to create a place where children find the emotional, physical, educational, and cultural resources that allow them to enjoy their childhood and thrive as adults. At the Club, they find caring mentors, avenues of opportunity, and tools they need to prepare for Great Futures.

    Honorees

Through the years Grenville Baker has recognized individuals at our Gala who care deeply about our community's children. This year we are proud to honor Eric and Keri Carlstrom, an inspiring couple who have had a significant impact on the Club and the children we serve. Eric, an Executive Vice President-Managing Director for Aon and Keri, a former educator have been involved with the Club for more than twenty-five years. Eric was a member of the Club's Board of Directors, served on the Operations Committee and was co-chair of the 2000 Capital Campaign to construct a second gymnasium. Eric is a member of the Advisory Board of Tuesday's Children and the Association Board of Cold Spring Harbor Lab. While raising their three children, Sven, Magnus and Erik Reid, Keri began serving her community by joining the Locust Valley Parent's Council and eventually becoming a member of the Board of Education. At the Club, Keri served on various committees through the years including Golf, Tennis and Gala and volunteered at our community Thanksgiving Dinner. She currently serves as President of the Board of Trustees for the Locust Valley Library. Eric and Keri were also involved in local charities including the Fund for the Poor, Oak Neck Athletic Council's Lacrosse Program and Momma's House. They are dedicated and committed to improving children's lives through education and encourage boys and girls of all ages to find their spark, pursue their dreams and be their best.
